From the origin to the cup: our trips to the countries of origin. A love of coffee beans and experience

Una taza de buen café - A cup of good coffee - Una tassa de bon cafè | Cafés El Magnífico

At Cafés El Magnífico we have built our reputation on our passion for high quality coffee and our commitment to excellence. A fundamental part of our approach is our origin trips, which allow us to establish direct relationships with coffee growers and personally select the beans they offer. This is from the origin to the cup

These trips not only facilitate the acquisition of exceptional coffees, but also foster a network of friendships and contacts with producers whom we deeply admire and with whom we share a love for the coffee bean.

In addition, Claudia Sans, Cafés El Magnífico’s Control Quality Manager, has had the opportunity to travel to various producing countries, such as Nicaragua, Ethiopia, Guatemala and Colombia, which reinforces the direct connection with the origins of the coffee that they offer.

Thanks to this dedication and the experience accumulated over the years, we always present a rigorous and exceptional selection of coffees, the result of our travels, tastings and collaborations with professionals in the sector throughout the world.

Our trips

Indonesia: Exploring coffee diversity

In 2017 we visited Indonesia. We explored regions such as Java and Bali, where we collaborated with the Klasik Beans cooperative. This organization, founded in 2008, works with more than 1,300 farms on different islands of the archipelago, focusing on educating and supporting smallholder farmers to improve crop quality and yields.

In the same year, Claudia Sans, quality control manager of Cafés El Magnífico, visited Ethiopia, the ancestral cradle of coffee. During her stay, she had the opportunity to explore various coffee growing regions, delving into the traditions and cultivation methods that make Ethiopian coffee unique. This experience enriched his perspective on the diversity and richness of the coffees of this African nation.

Burundi: Judging Coffee Excellence

It is also in 2017, when part of the Cafés El Magnifico team participates as an international jury in the Cup of Excellence competition in Burundi. During this experience, we evaluated coffees from washing stations such as Kibingo in Kayanza and Nzove in Ngozi. These coffees stood out for their sweet notes, bright acidity and velvety bodies, reflecting Burundi’s potential in the production of high quality coffees.

This collaboration reflects the company’s commitment to offering exceptional coffees and supporting sustainable agricultural practices.
