Uganda Bantu Blossom

Washing station

Kasese Gold is a coffee grown in the Rwenzori region of western Uganda, a mountainous area located at the foothills of the Rwenzori Mountains, known for its fertile soils, abundant rainfall and excellent coffee-growing conditions. Behind this project is Agri Evolve, a Ugandan company founded in 2016 with the aim of working directly with smallholder farmers and improving both coffee quality and the economic impact on local communities.

The project brings together thousands of smallholder coffee farmers who cultivate family-owned plots at high altitudes, where coffee plays an essential role in household economies. Agri Evolve maintains close relationships with producers, providing technical support, agronomic training and access to a more transparent and stable market.

Beyond coffee, the project has a strong social and environmental commitment, promoting initiatives related to education, gender equality, improved household incomes and sustainable farming practices. Its philosophy is based on building a more balanced value chain in which quality, community and sustainability progress hand in hand.

Process Method

This lot has been processed using the washed method. The cherries are hand-picked at optimal ripeness and delivered to the processing station, where they are carefully sorted before pulping.

The coffee is then fermented and washed to completely remove the mucilage before undergoing a slow, controlled drying process on raised beds. During this stage, the coffee is regularly turned and monitored to ensure even drying and preserve the quality of the lot.
